Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Overview
The State of Kentucky recognizes the importance of child care. To help Kentucky parents, the state has made money available to assist qualifying families with their child care costs.
Who is Eligible for Assistance?
To be eligible for assistance from the state, parents must meet one or more of the following guidelines:
1. The parent needs child care in order to work.
2. The parent attends post secondary or vocational education
and works for wages a minimum of twenty (20) hours a week.
3. The family's income (all adult family members living in the
household) meets the state's income guidelines.
4. The parent is a teen parent under age 20 in high school or
attending GED classes.
5. The parent is a on K-Tap and is in an education or
employment training program.
6. The state decides the child needs protection.
The child must be:
Under the age of 13
or
Under the age of 18 if the child is physically or mentally unable to care for him/herself and under court supervision.
